The Wednesday Play: Tackling Imposter Syndrome

What's keeping you up at night?

Hi everyone!

You’re officially reading the very first edition of The Wednesday Play! I am thrilled to have you here for today’s launch.

This newsletter has been a goal of mine for the past while — ever since I started writing my long-form content on LinkedIn last year. Like most creators, when I first started writing, I didn’t think anybody would be interested in my content. Though I had already built thriving careers in tech, entrepreneurship, and venture capital, I thought to myself, “People already know everything I’m going to share, so who will be interested in what I have to say?”

Turns out, tens of millions of you were interested. The lessons and experiences that I thought were obvious? Not so obvious.

So, what was that nagging feeling? The one that told me to quit before I even started? It was just imposter syndrome, rearing its ugly head once again. Because, as we know, imposter syndrome never truly goes away. Even when you reach the highest rungs of the career ladder, major Fortune 500 CEOs doubt themselves, too (I’ll get into this more below).

Still, I pushed forward, and now that tiny idea has turned into today’s launch, The Wednesday Play. Each week, I’m excited to take you on a deeper dive into “the big plays” that will help you succeed in your life and career, with everything from the iconic women’s leadership stories you love to the productivity gains and strategies that build better, wealthier careers. Here’s what each newsletter will look like:

  • The Play of the Week: a deep dive on an iconic female CEO of the week with new takeaways and more in-depth lessons (as newsletter subscribers, you’ll get this first before LinkedIn readers!)

  • The Execution Plan: a short career or productivity challenge for you to try each week

  • Playmaker’s Spotlight: a spotlight on an impactful story or post from a community member (find out how to get featured below)

  • The Extra Edge: interesting insights and news stories that I curate specially for you to give

I hope you enjoy this first edition and I hope you’ll reshare with your network!

As always, drop me a line and tell me what you think!

Jenny

P.S. If this looks familiar, this email is a re-send. Some folks didn’t receive it last week. Expect new content next week.
